Moving Into a Brand New Space

Meggan Honeysett and Patience Hele

Patience Hele has always loved working with people and food. She has been a domestic worker, a childminder and cooked at Deez Mexican Bistro, Hout Bay for several years.

So when Meggan Honeysett from Hout Bay’s Riding Centre was looking for someone to assist at the newly renovated Stable Coffee Shop, Patience was the perfect fit. Earlier this year, the Riding Centre was completely flooded. For Patience, this was a blessing in disguise. When the renovation was planned, a much bigger coffee shop was built than the original venue……. and extra help was needed.

“Patience has been a delight” says Meggan. “She is such a fast learner and is so friendly to both the children and parents who come here to ride. Everyone just loves her. She works well and is super clean in the kitchen”.

And for Patience it has been an equal delight “Meggan has taught me so much about baking. I have always loved cooking but have not needed to bake much. Now I can make muffins, banana bread, crunchies, cakes and more.”

Patience also dreams of owning her own little business one day, selling fruit and vegetables. For now, she is happy baking, cleaning, serving customers at the Stable Coffee Shop…..and keeping well away from the skittish horses!
