LINK OF LOVE BRINGS JOY TO DELFT
Abedare Primary (2) School was only opened in January 2012, to take the “overflow” from Abedare Primary. It is a humble school, with a huge heartbeat.
Principal, Mr David Joseph, was lured out of retirement to be the proud leader of this new school. He is delighted with the progress made to date, but cannot wait to see the prefab structures turned into more permanent buildings. “It gets very hot for the children in summer and of course, pretty cold all winter” he shares. “We are making slow but steady progress and have even started our own vegetable garden”.
Link of Love has been a great help in assisting parents who cannot pay their school fees. Felicity Valentine has four children, two of them at the school. She was a home carer, in-between raising her own children, but unemployment has made life very tough for her. Her dream is to see her children settled “Everything a mother does is for her children” she says “I feel so proud that my son got his matric. I had to leave school in Grade 9 as we had no money for education. I really want my children to have the best possible lives!”
