A study in perseverance
Sinakekele Maninjwa hails from Margate, about 15km from Port Shepstone. He attended a home school and completed his Martric in 2012 before registering for a Business Management Course with the Esayidi FET college. Excited to complete his 3 year course, he was required to get in-service training in order to receive his diploma, but was unable to find a business that would accept him as a trainee.
Without the necessary diploma Sinakekele battled to find work. He eventually decided to register for an IT course at Boston College, which he completed. But still no employment.
Sinakekele heard about the DreamWorker programme via a former lecturer and immediately came to the Worklink office to register. Shortly thereafter, the DreamTeam Port Shepstone found him work as an IT assistant at the college.
All the years of study finally came full circle and he is now working at his original place of learning!
Sinakekele dreams of starting his own IT business one day and training young people. He also wants to assist those in his community who need help in compiling CV’s. Way to go Sinakekele!
